Shattered Bond Guide

Shattered Bond is the titan-focused game mode in TCU : RE-CODE v0.1 by LunarFrost. It runs waves 1 through 7 and is widely regarded as the most efficient Resource and toilet-kill farming mode when played with the right titan setup. This page covers the full wave strategy, how to disinfect IUTSM, the best titan choices, and why Shattered Bond outperforms Normal Mode for focused grinding. This page covers the LunarFrost rebuild (v0.1, created April 25, 2026). For the legacy FStudio place, see How to Play and Denver Mode.

Why Shattered Bond is the best farm

In terms of pure efficiency:

  • Normal Mode 1–15: ~450 toilet kills in 30–40 minutes.
  • Shattered Bond 1–4: ~110 toilet kills in 6–7 minutes (with Cinema titan).
  • Infinity Mode with Cinema: probably the best overall toilet kill farm.

Shattered Bond 1–4 is the standout because it compresses high-value kills into a short time window. The key is Giant Screen (Cinema) as your titan, which dramatically speeds up clear speed.

Best titan setup

The two recommended setups for Shattered Bond:

TitanWhy it works
Giant Screen with CinemaBest overall — clears waves fastest with Cinema support
Titan 1.0 TrioStrong raw power, good for parties

Playing in a party significantly reduces difficulty and increases consistency. If you are solo, Giant Screen with Cinema is the safer and faster choice.

Wave-by-wave strategy

Wave 1–2: Establish position

Focus on killing ranged enemies and burst damage dealers first — specifically the Rocket Launcher Toilet. This enemy type can delete your titan quickly if left unchecked. Move behind cover immediately after identifying the threat.

Wave 3: Start using cover

From wave 3 onward, hide behind buildings whenever possible and avoid staying in open areas where laser attacks can track you. This is when the mode starts demanding positional awareness rather than raw damage.

Wave 4: Protect support forces

Wave 4 introduces support forces arriving to disinfect UTS’s infection. Your primary job is to protect these units — particularly the purification tank. If the tank dies, the run becomes significantly harder.

This is the hardest part of Shattered Bond if you do not have Cinema or strong titan support. Prioritize keeping the tank alive over dealing damage.

Wave 5: IUTSM encounter and disinfect

When wave 5 begins, your main objective is to distract IUTSM so he cannot attack the purification tank and support forces. Once you have his attention, work toward the disinfect sequence:

  1. Keep IUTSM focused on you, away from the tank.
  2. Let the purification tank shoot IUTSM until he falls to the ground.
  3. Deal 1,000 damage to IUTSM to remove the parasite.

After the parasite is removed, IUTSM will follow you to the G-Decoy.

IUTSM disinfect requirements: You need Cinema or a few titans to make this manageable. Solo attempts without titan support are much harder.

IUTSM can also appear on the X wave of Infinity Mode, not just Shattered Bond wave 5.

Wave 6–7: G-Decoy cleanup

After IUTSM’s infection is removed, proceed to the G-Decoy with him. Complete the remaining waves to finish the run.

Giant Screen (Titan Screen) play

When playing as Giant Screen in Shattered Bond, keep these rules in mind:

  1. Never start with M1 — it has a long endlag that leaves you vulnerable. Use Claw or Stomp first to open combos.
  2. Do not monitor the Screen gauge on the left side — it never runs out, so ignore it.
  3. If surrounded by multiple enemies, use Teleport to escape immediately.
  4. Tackle does not hit small enemies — only use it for movement or against giant enemies.
  5. Do not hesitate to use RSOD — it is Giant Screen’s most powerful ability and should be used freely in tough situations.

Overall assessment: Giant Screen excels in close-to-mid range combat. Avoid ranged fight scenarios. Use Teleport and Tackle to close distance, then wipe enemies with Claw, Stomp, and RSOD.

Scrap farming with Shattered Bond

The most efficient way to spend Resources from Shattered Bond is to exchange them for the specific scraps you need rather than spending on random banners or materials.

Most materials are not worth buying at their current prices. The main exception is Camcorder Memory, depending on your progression needs. Enhanced Scrap costs around 125 Resources and also requires other scrap types — generally avoid unless specific upgrades demand it.

Party composition tips

Shattered Bond in a party is substantially easier than solo. Recommended party setup:

  • At least one Giant Screen (Cinema) player for wave 4–5 protection.
  • Additional titans to分担 damage and add crowd control.
  • Communication for IUTSM targeting — assign one player to distract IUTSM while others protect the tank.

Common mistakes

  • Not protecting the purification tank on wave 4.
  • Starting Giant Screen combos with M1 instead of Claw or Stomp.
  • Ignoring ranged enemies (Rocket Launcher Toilet) in early waves.
  • Attempting IUTSM disinfect without Cinema or supporting titans.
  • Spending Resources on Enhanced Scrap instead of specific needed scraps.
