TCU : RE-CODE Ultimate Giant Camcorder (UTCM)
Battle Mode uptime, Core timing, Shield discipline, and Universe Piece upgrade order.
UTCM — Ultimate Giant Camcorder — is one of the highest-impact elite playables on legacy Toilet Collapsed Universe. At 255,000 HP with a slow walk speed, UTCM wins long modes by living in Battle Mode, spending Normal Mode only when Core is ready, and refusing to waste Shield on full-health ego plays. This page consolidates Trello and showcase stats so you can pilot the kit through Hard, Boss Rush, and Denver while TCU : RE-CODE stays upcoming. Compare lobby value on the unit tier list, then return to the Players hub for Trio and Astro Polycephaly.
If you are still unlocking elites, redeem codes, follow how to get units, and learn movement in getting started before you chase every Universe Piece upgrade listed below.
Core identity and the Battle Mode rule
Veterans repeat one sentence: ALWAYS stay in Battle Mode except to use Core. Normal Mode exists so you can fire the Core beam and a few tools; it is not your default stance. Battle Mode’s Hammer, heavier Stomp, and Shoulder Cannon package outpaces Normal punch trading in almost every mid-fight. Swap back the moment Core is spent.
Normal Mode attacks
| Move | Damage / notes | CD |
|---|---|---|
| Punch | 4,500 | — |
| Stomp | 7,000 | 5.65s |
| Dash | 950 per tick, ~45k total | 15s |
| Gravity Gun | 7,500, pulls enemies | 9s |
| CORE | 3,500 per tick, ~70k total | 95s |
| Flash Cannon | 4,500 | 1s |
Core is the reason you ever leave Battle Mode. Line it up on stacked toilets or a boss lock, dump the beam, then return to Battle stance. Flash Cannon’s 1-second cooldown is your filler between heavier tools.
Battle Mode attacks
| Move | Damage / notes | CD |
|---|---|---|
| Hammer | 6,500 | — |
| Stomp | 12,500 | 15s |
| Dash | 950 per tick, ~45k total | 15s |
| Shoulder Cannon | 3,500 | 4s |
| Flash Cannon | 4,500 | 1s |
Battle Stomp more than doubles Normal Stomp damage but sits on a longer cooldown — do not panic-stomp at the start of every wave. Dash remains a massive chunk tool in both stances; save it for turns when toilets clump or a boss stands still.
Shield discipline
Shield costs 2,500 Universe Pieces, grants 30,000 HP with +50% damage reduction, and is one-time. The showcase rule is blunt: do not waste Shield — use it near injured (around the 95k HP danger zone). When the Shield is destroyed it heals 30,000 HP, so burning it at full health throws away both the DR window and the heal trigger. Treat Shield like a second life, not a cosmetic glow.
Upgrade path (Universe Pieces)
| Upgrade | Cost | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Shield | 2,500 UP | 30k HP shield, +50% DR, one-time; destroy heal 30k |
| Improved Lens | 1,500 UP | Anti-screen tool |
| New Jetpack | 5,500 UP | Max health 280k, heal 40k, lose Gravity Gun, shoulder blasters 200/tick |
| Astro Arm | — | Deflect laser/orb; LMB 7,500; Stomp grab 30,000 CD 12 |
New Jetpack is a build-defining swap: you gain a huge HP ceiling and heal, but you lose Gravity Gun and lean on shoulder blasters at 200 per tick. Buy it when you already understand Dash and Flash Cannon timings without needing constant pulls.
Astro Arm deflects lasers and orbs, hits 7,500 on LMB, and adds a Stomp grab for 30,000 damage on a 12-second cooldown. Showcase advice: do not use a dropped Astro Arm unless you are injured — picking it up at the wrong time wastes the defensive identity of the item.
Mistakes that dump your DPS
- Shoulder cannons versus Flash Cannon trading — shoulder cannons add endlag, deal worse damage in that compare, and sit on a 4x longer cooldown mindset versus Flash spam. Prefer Flash Cannon when both are available for filler.
- Living in Normal Mode “because Punch feels fine.” It is not fine; return to Battle Mode.
- Popping Shield at 250k HP to look tanky on a recording.
- Ignoring mobile-friendly strings. On mobile, prioritize Stomp, Dash, and Flash Cannon (or Laser Blasters after the relevant upgrade path) instead of wrestling every PC-only habit.
Mode advice
- Easy — Overkill if you already own UTCM; use the run to practice Core → Battle swaps without pressure.
- Hard — Battle Mode uptime plus Shield at ~95k HP. Follow route notes in Hard Mode.
- Boss Rush — Core on stacked waves, Dash on commits, never die with Shield unspent if you are already bleeding.
- Denver — Flash Cannon and Dash clear clumps; Improved Lens helps against screen pressure.
Titans still matter for protocol players — see Titan Trio — but UTCM often outdamages stock Speakerman when Battle Mode is respected. Rank context stays on the Tier List Hub.
Recode and account planning
Recode is the upcoming rebuild, not a launched replacement. Badge saves and compensation rules differ by unit. Do not assume every Universe Piece cosmetic transfers 1:1. Read Recode migration and the Recode update page before you max every UP node purely for flex. Astro Polycephaly has a clearer badge-save message than most elites — compare notes on the Astro Polycephaly guide.
Confirm costs on the official Trello. Redeem Resources with how to redeem. Budget UP and banner pulls in the resource planner. Controls refreshers live under controls and how to play. Scripts risks are listed on scripts.
Watch the showcase video mid-page, then run one Hard lobby where your only goal is Battle Mode uptime and a single correct Shield pop — if you can do that twice in a row, UTCM will carry the legacy place until Recode finally asks you to relearn the kit from scratch.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers for TCU : RE-CODE players.
Should UTCM stay in Battle Mode?
Yes. Stay in Battle Mode except when you need to use Core, then swap back immediately.
When do I use UTCM Shield?
Near injured — around 95k HP. Shield is one-time (2,500 UP, 30k HP, +50% DR) and heals 30k when destroyed. Do not waste it at full health.
What does New Jetpack change?
For 5,500 UP you gain 280k max health and a 40k heal, but you lose Gravity Gun and use shoulder blasters at 200 damage per tick.
Are shoulder cannons better than Flash Cannon?
No for filler trading. Shoulder cannons have endlag, worse damage in that compare, and a much longer cooldown mindset — prefer Flash Cannon.
